Verdi

Requiem 'Offertorio'

Taught by renowned cellist

Eric Kim

In this lesson, we learn about creating a smooth line, from the lowest register of the cello all the way to a high register. Professor Kim places a special emphasis on intonation in this lesson, as many cellists have a tendency to drift sharp in their intonation. We also learn some of the secrets of the distribution of the bow, as Professor Kim relates this directly to the rest of the orchestra. We learn about the importance of not just knowing the cello part, but of being intimately familiar with the entire full orchestra score.
